Join us to watch some films, learn about two important Indigenous land defense struggles happening right now, and discuss the upcoming decision on the Kinder Morgan pipeline and what can be done about it.

Film 1: “Blockadia Rising: Voices of the Tar Sands Blockade” (1 hour)
This documentary demonstrates how in 2012, landowners and environmental activists from all over Texas came together in a bid to prevent a proposed oil pipeline from being built. It features exclusive footage that was filmed by the protestors themselves.
Film 2: “Directly Affected” (10 minutes)
Energy giant Kinder Morgan is proposing to build an export-only oil pipeline from Alberta to Vancouver, BC. This film tells the stories of the lives and livelihoods that will be directly affected.

This is a PWYC fundraiser for Chippewas of the Thames’ fight against Enbridge’s Line 9 at the Supreme Court. The event is free but please bring a contribution if you can. Thank you!
