June 13th, 2015 ~ 9am-12pm ~ Eramosa River Park
Join OPIRG Guelph and Wellington Water Watchers for our 36th annual 2Rivers Cleanup (previously the Speed River Cleanup).
This year, alongside our traditional garbage pickup, the event will feature four amazing river-loving activities! We know that removing harmful garbage from our rivers is a valuable endeavour but our new activities go further by addressing drugs and hormones in our waterways, increasing the tree canopy to cool the river and protect against toxic run off, and supporting the pollinator population to increase river health.
What’s the ultimate goal of the Cleanup? To revive, restore and rehabilitate the Speed and Eramosa rivers for all species to enjoy!
Event Details:
Saturday June 13th, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Eramosa River Park – East end of the park by Victoria Road. Check in at the covered picnic area (at the end of Lawrence Ave).
The event kicks off at 9am sharp, so please arrive any time after 8:30 to sign in, check out the information displays, and grab some snacks.
