Wednesday April 29, 1-3pm.
Guelph Public Library, 100 Norfolk St. Guelph.
Filmed at the 80-acre Wing Fong Farm in Ontario, and directed by Yung Chang, this documentary follows the experiences of Lau King-Fai, her son, and 6 migrant farm workers from Mexico.
Growing Community Health (an OPIRG Action Group) has partnered with the Guelph Local Immigration Partnership to co-present this documentary. It highlights the connected experiences of a Chinese immigrant family and a group of Mexican migrant workers as they work in Ontario agriculture.
Migrant farm workers continue to sustain industrial agriculture in Ontario, yet many of us do not know much about these members of our communities. We are excited for people in Guelph to learn more about the experiences of those working as migrant farm workers. We hope to have a discussion after the screening.
Admission is completely free. Free popcorn.
