SAT. JUNE 18: Community Tree Planting at Wolfond Park

Come and help if you can!

The Speed River Project is running a Community Tree Planting on Saturday June 18 at Wolfond Park East (212 Arthur Street North). We’ll be there from 10am to 3pm, planting about 120 native woodland plants like Bloodroots, Mayapple, Canada Anemone, and False Solomons. These ideal plant species can out-compete invasive garlic mustard. They have evolved to live here for 1000’s of years and provide valuable habitat.

We will be planting and mulching from 10 am to 3.pm. Please join us! Children are welcome. Snacks and drinks will be served!

Please bring buckets for watering, small shovels, rakes, wheel-barrows if you have them.  RSVP to Kiran at speedriver@opirgguelph.org.  Please help us to spread the word!  There is a FB event if you’d like to invite your friends:  https://www.facebook.com/events/255346188179115/

Thanks!
See you at the park!
